IPDC Workshops
Tennessee Tech University is pleased to announce a series of NSF funded faculty development workshops for introducing Parallel and Distributed Computing (PDC) in early CS/CE curriculum. The workshops are targeted for faculty from 2 & 4 year colleges who do not have PDC expertise and teach, and/or plan to teach, early CS/CE classes

Workshop Highlights
- Participants attend 4 days of virtual pre-workshop training (2 hour 30 minutes each day.
- 3 full days of in-person faculty development activities at Tennessee Tech University.
- Hands-on experience working with modules from previous successful PDC integration efforts
- $4000 stipend for each participant paid in two installments ($2500 to defray the cost of attendance, and $1500 for implementation effort)

Workshop Overview
The workshop will provide intensive hands-on experience on using thread libraries to write parallel programs in C/C++, Java, and Python. The participants will learn how to integrate PDC topics following best practices in introductory programming classes. They will also be introduced to our toolkit which aids in introducing these topics into their early computing classes, as well as pedagogical methods to interest students in PDC concepts.
The goal of this workshop is to educate and form a community of skilled educators, who may then work together to develop new modules and methodologies that can be shared with the community.
Grant Restrictions: US citizens, permanent residents, or persons with valid US work permit are eligible for the stipend.
